Some toners appear soapy and the counter girls advised that I must
wipe with a cotton pad after using their cream cleanser. Why is this
so?
A. These soapy toners are not toners at all. Indeed, they are mild
liquid soaps made by some manufacturers for removing the surface oily
stains left over by their tacky cream cleansers. Dr. Pierre toners
are active toners with specific therapeutical actions.

Who pioneered such Active Toners?
A. Dr. Pierre is the pioneer and original creator of such Active Toners
since 1982.

Should face be wet before using the Active Toner?
A. No. It should be dry. After cleansing, simply tap dry with a tissue
first before applying the Active Toner.

Can I apply my Day or Night Cream immediately after the Active Toner?
A. Wait for a minute or two for the Active Toner to be fully absorbed
first, before applying your Day/Night Cream.

Do Dr. Pierre Active Toners contain Fragrance and Alcohol?
A. Absolutely NOT! Some Fragrances cause UV radiation reaction on
the skin, leading to delayed pigmentation. Alcohol cause skin dehydration.
We NEVER use them, because toners are left on the skin for hours,
and the negative effect can be disastrous over time.

Why then are other manufacturers still incorporating Fragrance and
Alcohol in their toners?
A. In conventional/standard formulas provided freely by raw materials
suppliers, they use fragrance both to mask over some strong smelly
odor of certain ingredients, as well as to attract comsumers to their
toners by way of nice-to-smell fragrance. Alcohol is used in these
standard formulas as an easy-way-out preservative, because toners
are proned to water-borned bacterial growth and can turn rancid easily.
Dr. Pierre uses a special production technique to produce toners without
using alcohol as preservatives.
